One of my favorite authors, E.E Cummings, said:
“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”
He couldn’t be more right about growth. It takes courage to be who you are in a world where differences should be celebrated instead of being considered as flaws.
Growing up is painful. Finding who you really are is a long and endless journey where you’ll find bumps in the road. But it’s so worth it. I’ve find that growing up is also learning to be honest. With others but especially with yourself. It’s learning to be honest about what you want, what you need or what you feel. It’s far from being easy. There’ll always be ups & downs along the way.
You’ll have to stand tall against the world and keep your voice louder than the noise of others, whispering you how you should be. In the end, stay true to yourself once you find it. Be proud of who you are.
That’s what matter the most.
